Exclamation HID Housing Conversion

I'm going to be in the process of transferring the HID components from a '03 M3 headlight housing into a '01 330ci headlight housing. From what I've read on the forums it's possible, but im interested to know if anyone here has done it and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If im successful with the physical aspect of the upgrade will a dealer re flash be needed to get the electric/computerized aspect in order? or will a simple fuse removal suffice?

BTW my 330 was manufactured in 10/2000.

Thanks.

just pulling the fuse will be sufficient. why are you transfering the HID components into your 330 housing? the whole headlight should fit in your car fine. without that need

Make sure to keep everything clean, wear gloves. Last thing you want is to be all done and then notice a print on the reflectors.

Thanks for the response gentleman. I would like to do that but one of the HID housings is cracked. So its a strait swap with room for the ignitors or have I opened a can of worm of immeasurable proportions?

If its just cracked you can try using jb weld or some other epoxy to seal it back up. How bad is the break?
