Thumbs Up HPF750 "SMG" Turbo M3 Hits the Road!!!

I just got the pleasure of riding around in an HPF750 turbo equipped "SMG" E46 M3, and I must say that was a real treat! The driveability is amazing from the soft "SMG" shift intensities all the way to the race mode setting. On race fuel at the highest shift intensity the car pins you in the seat with no time to breathe between shifts. This car is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Unfortunately, since it isn't ours, we have to give it back to the customer, but I'm sure we'll be seeing and hearing more from Alvin in the upcoming months.

Here's a video of Alvin's M3 I put together.

Here are the dyno results for his "SMG" E46 M3. Alvin had previously purchased the Dinan package which include new ITB's, intake, exhaust and software. The intake and software were replaced with our HPF750 kit.

Here's a picture of Alvin's M3 on the dyno

Another picture on the dyno

Another picture on the dyno from the front

Here's a shot of the engine.

Here's a shot of our engine management system

I love the interior on this car. The gauges fit perfectly behind the paddle shifters.

Take care,
Chris.

Okay but we don't have AA over here so I still have to get my car tuned. Waiting on PnP tuner to finish harness.

Alvin,
Congrats on the first SMG turbo kit! I hope hope you get some good tires soon, you're gonna need 'em! Too bad they couldn't have shot a vid of your car on dry pavement. That thing will be crazy with some fresh rubber.

Based on that dyno: how does it make almost twice the wheel torque at 2,000 rpm before any boost is built?

Timing and slight boost?

Dinan mods reducing low end rwtq slightly?

If you look at the dyno chart from my car you will see pretty much the same thing. I believe the reason for this is because ignition timing, cam timing, and just about every other important function of the engine is now being controlled by the HPF engine management system, not by the factory DME. The charts are correct, as there is a very noticeable low end increase in my car, even before the turbo starts to spool.
