my spotless e30 winter beater...

i dont want to expose my e46 to any harsh winter conditions when its done... so it seemed logical to get a second car to drive in the winter... after searching for a while I found this mint E30 318is...its really is in pristine condition... no scratches, dents, rust, mechanical problems... nothing. And the best part... its all original! Including some really rare OEM alloy wheels. I love this thing... E30's are amazing cars... and its really fun to switch between this and my e46...

here go the pics...

I'm picking it up from the bodyshop tomorrow. It's just been completely repainted. I can't wait to get it back!

We'll be twins then

Thats sick man! Id love to have one for a winter beater. There is one somewhere here in my neighborhood I see once in a while I might try to follow home and see what he would sell it for...

thanks... I'm not planning on modding it with any modern looking mods, I cant stand old cars with mods that look out of place. If anything I'll get some full red taillights and m-tech sideskirts. I already ordered some smoked front turn signals. I like how this car has been kept original for nearly 20 years, and I would feel bad if I was the first one to ruin it. It even still has an original engine break in procedure sticker in the windshield. The sticker tells you how to operate the car for the first 1500 miles

As for reliability... the 6cyl engines are literally bulletproof. As for a 4cyl like mine, you have to be careful. A lot of the 4 bangers have camshaft and valve problems. If the car has a rough idle with a noticebale ticking sound, and if the car wont rev past 4000rpm DONT BUY IT. New cams will mostly cost almost as much as you payed for the car. My E30 fortunatley already has a fully rebuilt head with valves and cams...

IMO the E30 is the perfect beater...

o yeah... the car is dropped on koni suspension, I just noticed that yesterday when I parked next to a E30 without a drop...

A New Zealand site yeah,

http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/...4&st=0&start=0

The project has changed goals a few times but my sig is what i've finally settled on.

End of your next summer (end of our winter) hopefully finished with 815bhp (650rwhp)

Currently taking the cylinder bore out to 86.9mm to fit oversized low comp pistons.
