My Ride: 03 M3
::**My journey to become boosted** :-)p

Hello forum members.
After much work on my end, I have worked something out to have my car sponsored by Horsepowerfreaks (HPF). I would like to share my personal experiences with them and there Turbo kit from start to finish.

Just a quick shout out to my boys on the Europrojektz team. We just started a Midwest chapter about two months ago and are going strong!

My 2003 E-46 M3 (smg) will be getting the HPF Turbo kit with polished manifold and some various other parts as well. I will most likely be doing the stg2 w/methanol injection kit. My car may be the first one to be done with this kit, depending on when it gets there.

I personally dont want the trouble of finding 110 octane fuel in my area to achieve the 600+rwhp. With stg2, this will be achieved in high boost mode w/methanol injection and get over 500rwhp on low boost as opposed to 400+rwhp w/stg1.

I have been in contact with some of the other F.I. companies, about using their kit on my car, and without going into too much detail, lets just say it was not what I would expect as far as customer service goes.
From the moment I contacted HPF, I was acknowledged immediately, and have had a great experience thus far.
I have been kept up to date on everything with my project, and my calls are answered on the spot, or returned within the hour.

I will answer any questions to the best of my knowledge.
If I do not know the answer, I will do what I can to get one. Or better yet,
maybe one of the guys at HPF will see this thread and chime in on my behalf.

*The only request I ask of is,.. to be considerate and keep any comments or questions on the subject at hand.

For those of you interested, ENJOY THE RIDE!!

~Oct 4th. The car was scheduled to be picked up by the transport carrier sometime in the evening central time.

~Oct 5th. Transport carrier arrives around 8p.m., and lets just say I wouldnt let these guys move my Honda civic! They had no idea how to drive smg, and had a makeshift ramp on one side because the previous night while sleeping at a rest stop, one of the ramps was stolen!
(This also happened to be an open carrier, hence all the blue tape).
I immediately got on the phone with the broker who contracted the job, and within 1 hour, he found a carrier that would be in the area Oct 6th or 7th.

~Oct 6th. (The very next day) I get a call from the dispatcher saying the driver will call me and be in the area sometime this evening!
At approx. 6:45p.m., the driver calls and says he's about 1 hr. away.
By 7:45 he calls and says he's 10 min. away.
So I drive down the street to meet him at an open lot, and much to my surprise, this is a very nice enclosed trailer with a very meticulous driver!

The first pics are of the truck, and driver doing his inspection. The rest are of the loading process.
So much for ALL the blue tape! (Can you tell Im very anal about my car).
Here we go starting with the 2100 mile journey to Portland, Oregon.

Tommy,

I saw your question on m3forum.net about our methanol kit "stage 2" and the safety features we have put in place to protect the engine.

We set up this kit so that the owner of the vehicle simply has to put methanol in the tank and the vehicle will recognize it and use it. The way the driver will know they've run out of methanol in the tank is that the power will drop back to the original pump gas power level. If the methanol line ever gets clogged the way the driver will know is the power will drop back to the original pump gas power level. They don't have to flip any switches or do anything.

The safety features we have in place "only" allow the boost to increase and the methanol timing and fuel maps to be implemented once the methanol is fully activated. Any line blockage or methanol starvation prevent the methanol settings from being used and protect the engine.

I'm not going to go into specifics about how this is exactly done with our kit, but it is very safe.

Take care,
Chris.
