What really matters is not so much the degree of coverage on the car, but the amount of liability covered. In Canada most people get at least $1 million. This is what I have and I'm paying something like $300 per month for a 325xi. I tried to lower it by increasing the deductible, etc, but it made almost no difference.

I'd be curious to see what amounts of liability you have in the States. Someone here told me that in the US the legal liability requirements are much lower and so most people have much lower liability coverage, which results in lower premiums. I'd like to see if that's really the case.

When I moved from Iowa to Toronto, my insurance rose by the factor of 6 (no joke). It's a highway robbery here (not the only one, sadly).

I would like to see that.

As a matter of fact, I am calling BS on that.

$35 per car per month that value over $150,000 total with full coverage.

Yea, um...

You can call it what you want, that is nothing but the truth. I have no reason to lie. I knew someone was going to call 'bs' I was initially going to copy and paste my policy but decided against it.

Whatever dude.

My father has about 10 cars and no accidents or tickets and he can't get per car rates that low on cars that sit in storage.

Almost 2k a year (just looked at my statement and that is what I owe for the rest of this year)

2004 BMW 325i full cover
1996 Opel Corsa B 1.4 liability (if this car was as fast as the BMW, I would like it better)
Renter's Insurance
Valuable Asset Insurance

For the cars is either $250 or $0 deductible, can't remember
