Engine upgrade questions for those who know???

Ive decided to upgrade my 318i 1.9L engine for a larger engine, thinking an M series engine cos mine is really slow...
If I bought a new engine, what else do i need to upgrade to make the conversion complete? And what do you think it will cost me?
Im thinking...
  • engine
  • exaust and headders
  • transmittion
  • ECU
Is that it or am I missing any other things???

Drive shaft, motor mounts, radiator (depending), lots of time

For cost are you doing this yourself? Have you read the E46MIT thread?
