DIY: booser hood
wesCUHz for you and other guys who thinkink to do this mod.
1. look at your car and make sure you want to damage your beautiful OEM hood ![]() 2. If answer is YES take some paper and go ahed be better than bmw designers 3. to cut eyelids im using soft metal sheets from home depot, these are about 3/64 thick and you can bent these to your hood edge 4. I dont know this guy but looks like he taking off all paint from the hood edge, be carefull don't make a hole ![]() 5. he did it... 6. now is time to weld your metals to the hood and now if you don't know how to do this just DO NOT DO THIS, take your car to good body shop and they will do this job for you. I cant tell you how to do this cause is not to easy you have to weld these metals in long time period don't overheat your hood you have to welding not longer than one inch then jump to other place few inches away etc.etc... 7. don't overheat the hood! you don't want any waves trust me...8. almost done... 9. this too... time for grinder 10. bondo... green, blue, red or yellow with few colors is easier, you can see what you changing 11. ready for primer 12. it takes me few hours to get what i want 13. primer... 14. and primer 15. almost ready for paint 16. dont forget to check weather if you want to left your car outside for some time lol 17. painting 18. now is time to check what you get 19. some adjustment and you are done ! this is my last version with bmw logo i think thats all GL !!! Guys i'm sorry for my bad english if anybody want please send me fixed text and i'll change it.

Hmm.. I really wanna do this but looks like I will have to go to a body shop for the welding. I can weld, but I am not about to **** up and lose a hood... although it would be a good excuse for a CF one :O

my m3 mirrors are def harder to see out of than the regular elephant ears and TL mirrors

mirrors are easy - take the door panels off (torx screws - you have to remove the trim and the small covers on the armrests)
do not cut the plugs - just pop the pins out of the plugs (write down the colors and pin location ###) then the wires will slip right through

Like the rear light thread...nice work. I'm trying to go with smoked stock rears. We will see how it works out...
Also thinking about replacing my stock exhaust with a ZHP one, and probably deleting one resonator. Has anyone deleted one or both for new exhaust? I'm also wondering if I need stainless from cat-back or just welding the exhaust on. Thoughts? Thanks
