SEDAN E46 M3 project from Norway.

Bougth myself a e46 320d in may 2013. This was going to be my daily driver since I also owned a 200sx S14a with a 600hp 2jz engine.

This i how the car looked when I picked it up.

Here from a little brake inside of Lærdalstunellen here in Norway.

So things had to be done. And I bought myself a set of ASA 3 piece rims cheap from a friend. The only problem was that they where to wide with a low ET. But I had faith.

The dim on the back rims are 10"x18 ET17

The reason I got them cheap is beacuse of the chrome as began to come of. So I had to send them away to a company that could help me remove it.

Then when I got the outer rings back again I buildt a pretty primitive tool to make the sanding and polish job easier for myself.

It took me about 50 hours of sanding with 240/800 wet/ 1200wet sandingpaper and with 2-4000 sanding pads. Than I used mequiars alu polish at the end.

When all the polishing was done I had to choose a color that would get attencion on the rims. I did not fancy the color on the car at first, but it started to grow on me. So the color I went for on the rims was Electric Orange from a Ford Focus ST.

I think it looked kind of cool. But I can be honest, at first when only one of the rims was mounted and it was still in the air at the shop i looked at the car and tougth to myself. DAFUQ!

But with the polished rims and the electric orange and its coloreffect in the sun i think it came out nice.

Here is also my coilovers mounted.

Just began to take apart the m3.

All of the bolts and nuts and so was put in labeled bags so I knew what they were for when it was coming together again.

The m3 that i picked up in UK was in really good shape. Almost a shame to take it apart. But with the prices for an m3 in norway this was the best way for me.

Paid about 10.000$ for it. And in Norway it costs 50.000$

There where no cracks in the body, even that this is a SMG car.

And yes! It was a hell of a job with wiring, beacuse of the right hand drive and left hand drive switch..

And now for the fun part.

Just started to modify the front fenders on my 4 door. The m3 steering and all the components is wider than a std e46. So my problem now is that the ASA rims wount fit at the front beacuse of this. So I have to have m3 fenders all the way around.

Im an amateur so be gentle

Here I am testing with the ASA rims. And you can see the difference. !

Im looking forward to be finished and get all new paint on. And cruise around in something not everybody have or can go and buy at the store. Something "unique"

You would understand it if you knew about the Norwegian taxes we get on cars.!

If I buy a new camaro/challenger for about 50.000$ in the US I have to pay about 150.000$ in tax to get it registred in Norway legally with numberplates.!

But i got some work done today. The fender is now welded on to the car and going to finish that one side tomorrow. Than there is "only" three to go! :p
