Actually a gixxer is more comfortable than a cbr600rr.
A f4i, well that's a different story.

i haven't been on the RR ... so... i can't say
but definitely the cbr600f4i is the most comfortable sportbike

my roommate had a 2002 cbr600f4i ... then got 2008 gsxr600
so i got to ride them both
and right now i'm taking care of my old roommate's 2004 yamaha R6 for the next 2 months so i've been riding that around
ride comfort goes cbr600f4i -> R6 -> gsxr600

but the gsxr600 all black is pure sex

hopefully the weather will let up this week so i can go ride with some buddies
damn torrential downpour ... and tornado watch

as simple as those 6 years are, when it comes to sportbikes, thats like a light year in differences.

sure...
but...
i'm confused about what's you're trying to say
are you just talking about the technological advances?
of course... the newer gsxr kicks ass

but my statement is purely based on ride comfort
that the newer gsxr600 is less comfortable than the older cbr and r6 ...

basically im sayin gback in 02 the F4i was honda's supersport bike, a year later it was replaced by the RR, and that made the F4i seem stone aged.

the 03 600RR, now compared to a 07 600RR, almost seems like its a decade behind, the new gixxer arent any different. its only 6 years but the way supersports have moved fwd its just midn blowing.
the F4i will feel like a cruiser compared to the current supersports, but back in 02, it was one of the best ones out

because alot of bikes now is almost track bikes straight out of the box.. (not like u cant just throw them on the track anyways) but u kno what i mean...

sit on a 03-05 r6... get the riding position.. then sit on a 08 r6... the riding position is COMPLETELY different... the 08 is so track position ready it's crazy...

^ so my observation that the '08 gsxr600 is not as comfortable as the older cbr600 and R6 is well founded then...

anyway
it's still a minor difference that can be ignored when you can go from 35 to 100 in a flick of the wrist and 2-3 gear changes in seconds

a true rider, wouldnt say that.
gixxers are comfortable. Period, they have cushy seats higher handlebars and stuff. ride a 08 gixxer, then ride a 08 cbr, and then a 08 r6 and a zx6r, then youll see, that by far its teh most comfy supersport out.

not sure if you are saying that in reference to the bolded text above, but i disagree... unless by "true rider" you mean motorcycle racer. today's sport bikes are so beyond 90% of street riders' skills or discernability it's ridiculous. have you noticed that motorcycle magazines now routinely recruit racers to test bikes on the track... because that's the only way they can nitpick the differences or subtle nuances. that wasn't always the case.

and i've been riding for over twenty years including a variety of bikes in a variety of conditions. if i can't tell the difference, does that mean i'm not a "true rider"?

there is a difference between telling the difference and ignoring the difference.
i was saying it more in reference to the entire statement. not just the part you highlighted. when u really get into bikes, and u get picky about them, and what u want them to do, what you want them to do, and your compromises will change.
