I've heard good things about the Pilot Pures. Up until this point, I've only used Bridgestones on my GSXR600 and Pirelli Dragons & Diablos on my 848. I may try the Pures next.

as for their handling, thats a whole other story and really down to personal preference.

I haven't run into issues with the way that my Pirelli's wear on the street. I believe that the main reason for this is:
  1. My Dragon's are OEM dealer spec tires (..i.e..harder compound than the aftermarket Dragons)
  2. My Diablos are SC3 front/rear, so they are a much harder compound than SC0/SC1/SC2. I believe the TD compound is softer than the SC3 as well.

...and I agree, handling is personal preference and hard to specify/determine without riding on the tires.

on the note of tires. I dropped off my wheels and my local Cycle gear just called and told me they read.y. unfortunatly I have to wait till tmrw to actually pick them up. 18 hour semesters are sucking ass. ....

my buddy that considered himself a pirelli man like myself, has tried the pures, and loves em...

as for the wear, im not saying their street tires wear fast, pretty average, especially on a 1k, but i was shocked at how the michelins last longer the. thats all ..

Well I just recently picked up a 2010 r6 for just under 12 grand, which includes 500 dollars worth of accessories, and three years complete maintenance service. Did I get ripped off?

Price is definitely relevant to location. My g/f paid about the same for my GSXR in '07 with extended warranty and GAP. You probably could have bargained a bit more, but that's not too bad of a deal. Enjoy the R6! It's a great bike.

got my wheels back on. the new tires are gonna put some more miles on her tonight and see how the lighting mods do in the dark.

I also discovered I will soon need new pads up front, and I also did some suspension research. I am a bigger guy (6'1" and 250lbs) and the bike is sprung for a person who weights about 125lbs based on the factory spring rate.

What you guys think of this:

Front:
550# springs up front from SonicSprings (based on their calculator) - $80
20W fork oil - Motul - amazon - $12
new seals/dustboots - CycleGear - $20
Rear:
Proshocks #550 spring - $60
Raising dogbones - $50

grand total about $230 - I wish cars were this cheap to mod.

Long way down was a book written by Ewen McGregor about his journey by motorcycle around the world. It's now a tv series on Current Tv, Tuesdays at 9pm.

First Cafe Racer on Discovery HD, now this. Some good motorcycling television!

Somewhere between good and better than nothing. It varies from episode to episode
