True. You can take the written test whenever to be able to ride on the streets. This gives you your permit. Only limitations are: no riding with a passenger, no riding on the freeway, and no riding after dark.

Once you pass the riding test (or take a certified class which acts to nullify the riding test) you have no restriction.

I took the written one about a week ago, and its worth noting that if you add an M1 onto your C class, you MUST take ALL other class tests at the same time, so that your licenses all expire at the same time.

Found that out after I went to the DMV, so needless to say I was a little nervous 'bout taking the general vehicle one, in case of those random *%$#@!* insurance/ hauling questions all falling on the first page.

EDIT: P.S. Its been raining/ shitty weather here since Sunday and I'm dieing to get on mine just to tool around town and get more comfortable. So much fun!

Either, way, if you plan on getting one, take a riding course! Only reason I haven't yet is schedule.

M3inline, did you get R&T forks or cartridges?

as for downshifting and wagging the tail, i think its more brutal to tires than clutches. but its rough on both for sure.
i do it sometimes, my room mate used to pull the clutch in on his bike bang down to 1st and dump the clutch and then control the wiggle and brake to a stop. it was pretty hilarious to see this on a triumph tiger.

Pasha thats just messed up teasing like that.

im curious to see how this R6 of mine will feel.
im very very big on rev matching and downshifting at the track.
it will be the 1st bike i ride on track with a slipper clutch, plus dude said he did some popular mod to it to make it act more like an after market slipper.

I think that I posted pics in the "Recent Purchases" thread, but the forks aren't on the bike yet. I'll definitely post pictures once they are installed. Ohhhhhh, those shiny gold forks.

New guy here! Figured I'd post up a couple shots of my bike(s)

First bike (sold)

1985 Honda VF1000R:

what it SHOULD have looked like:

My current bike

2003 Suzuki GSX-R 1000:

And a little e46 content too

Really nothing done to the bike aside from a Yoshimura RS-3 bolt on and '04-'05 GSX-R 600/750 forks due to the original forks being so pitted they destroyed new fork seals after about 2000 miles. It was laid down by the original owner with 800 miles on it. He never put it through his insurance so it has a clean title and has been completely repaired. I bought it with 2900 miles on it last spring and it's got around 6000 on it now. Biggest problem is getting the weather up here in Maine to cooperate so I can put some miles on!!!!!

-Paul

P.S. just helped my friend unload his brand new BMW S1000RR the other night. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) taking that for a ride once the weather improves up here!!

Haha yeah, that's my friend's detailing shop. I've been helping them with various stuff. Plowed for them all winter, etc. so I get full access to the shop. It's very nice. All radiant heat and a concrete 2nd floor for storage to boot!

the most recent pics i have of my RR are from my last 2 trackdays.
im honestly undecided if i want to sell it or not. im so confused.
im toying with the idea of keeping it, and repairing my mag rims and maybe doing a mild motor build, but all that takes money, money i can drop on the r6 or other more important things.

the r6 as she sits at home.

the RR back in march

whats different now? the mags are bent, should be repairable tho. Room mate sends me teaser pics every once in a while

Money, tell me about it! I crashed last month's race and just having spares and rebuilding is draining my account. Club racing ain't cheap by any means!

EDIT: Your R6 looks lovely. I wish I had the funds and approval to get a newer 600.

i need to get me one of them gopros too, need one for when i get home here in a few weeks.

just bought a QS for the RR yesterday off wera.

already have brembo RCS, traxxion tank slider, woodcraft shark fin, cox radiator guard, for the R6.
still need a QS for it, tank grips, quick release gas cap, and air filter.

the xt racing gpx pro will have to wait.

wen i get back and hit the track, looks like im gonna have 4 days at summit point, friday practice, race debut sat and sunday, and trackday monday.

GoPro is great, $300 but the accessories will kill ya.

Are you getting stompgrip or TechSpecs? I ran stompgrips for a few season, but one day they just starting peeling and fell off.

Awesome lineup, better hit the gym and do some inner leg workouts.
