^ and thats fine too, sometimes we have to take a step back, and see the big picture and understand it, before we come back to it.
Dont let this one, probably isolated incident deter you. Now if you keep having mishaps, we might wanna think about the sh1t. but 1 time, naw man, jump back on it, and ride again. Its just one more lesson in the box.

Man, I remember all to well back in the day when I first started riding how I got the rash on my forearms. Miserable time, but it heals. The memory of the crash also heals. Of course, that was in India about 13 years ago when I never wore any gear... not even a helmet. One of my front teeth have a crown because of one of the accidents. Now, I'm a physical therapist and know all too well how crappy an injury can get. Still, I find myself going for quick trips around town without enough gear and I feel so guilty. That being said, I'm amassing some awesome Dainese gear that is as stylish and comfortable as it is protective.

ok well i decided to take a few minutes to look at gear. When i heal i am gonna try some stuff on. Need some opinions:

Boots: Alpine star black top shoe - need all day comfort, look ok under slacks or w.e
Jacket: Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 - come with waterproof liner, breathes well, looks ok.
Gloves: JR Atomic 3.0 - seem legit
Helmet: Bell Vortex -doesnt have the nice drop down visor, but safe and in my price range. Scorpion doesnt seem to make the EXo-1000 anymore.

Thats a nice list. Shoes are good for traction when stopping too.

More important that you'll actually wear the stuff than any particular brand/model.
