LOL, I cant say Im brand or model loyal to anything. Usually shy away from kawis though. Next season Ill be moving to lightweight on an SV. My plan is to come pretty close to matching my MW laptimes on a decent SV. I can ride the hell out of SVs. HEHEHEEE!!

Yeah I'm about the same. Been through 2 RRs and now on a R6. If the R6 sells tho, I'm planning on getting another, and go YEC rather than full bazzaz.
R6 handles so awesome. Only gixxer I'd rock is a 1k, but not wanting to go back to a 1000 i4 just yet. |

The older ones (like mine) are tanks. They definately dont handle the best but they take a beating.
And speaking of SVs... ![]() This is my friend Katie's. We were planning an enduance run for '10 but I wrecked the day before the race and broke my thumb so I couldnt ride. Ill try to get a couple of my streetbike up. |

My street bike: 97 YZF600r. Ive painted and bedlinered the frame, painted the bodywork done lots of little custom whatnot. Biggest thing was building the headlight. Thats kind of my hobby. Two hella E55 bixenon projectors, LED demon eyes. I had to build the whole housing with fiberglass and build the adjustment system and bracketry inside. All for a bike I never ride anymore. lol. ![]() ![]() ![]() Odd that with all the work I put into that bike I didnt take many pics of the finished product before I ended up at the bottom of a 30ft revine. |

Oh yeah. Def still trying to do it. Was deployed most of the year, and in hindsight I'm glad I didn't. Was all washed up so wouldn't been more of a hazard to myself and others I think.
Once I'm working again, hopefully by march I will get some days under my belt and give it a shot again. Might even do another race school. I'm hoping the R6 doesn't sell, it would be tougher, but if it does I will just rebuild another. Ps. Selling a front Marchesini rim that may fit your yzf. Interested? |

IIRC there arent any other front wheels that work on the YZF, FZR1000 rear wheels fit though.
What bike was the wheel made for? Sounds like you had a good enough reason not to race. Its a pretty big time and monetary commitment. I hear VIR is a nice track, is that where you usually go? |

It's for a 01-03 R1. Was gonna try to retrofit it to the R6 but dumb me did t count how many rotor mounting bolts before I bought it. So I'm trying to source a rotor carrier that works for me.
I'm not trying to give up trackday or go full time racing. Just want the experience really, and hoping to learn a thing or two while doing it. Yeah VIR is my "home" track. Love it, but Dunno what's up with their new rumble strips. Image be moving to GA if this job works out. So roebling, rd atl, and the new atl motorsport park. Looks promising. |

01-03 r1 is actually pretty close, but the wheels dont swap.
I would never give up trackdays. I actually control ride and instruct so I ride free anyway. Racing is certainly a whole different experience. It takes a lot of confidence in your fellow racers and a decisiveness not always seen in trackday only riders. On the other hand, trackdays are so much less stressful and allow you to work on specific stuff without feeling pressure to do well in a race. |
