Guys, I'm looking at a new set of tires for the Zook. I wanted to see if you guys have experience with either one, pros and/or cons.

-Bridgestone Battlax BT-016
-Dunlop Q3 Sportmax
-Pirelli Diablo Rosso II

Personally, I'm leaning towards the Battlax's. They were the OEM tire off the bike. However, if anyone has used the other options, or has other options - I'd really like to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I've heard great things about the Q3's that just came out. Everyone liked the Q2 as well.

1) What kind of riding do you do?
2) How much is each set?

With that being said, IMO I'd steer away from the battlax as they are not a good tire, and because how much I love the Q2 - I'd definitely go with the Q3.

Good luck.

1. Canyon riding predominately, throw in the highway miles to get there.
2. Pricing is competitive, I was quote $131 for the battlax's, $135 for the Q3's.

You don't like the battlax?

I'd go for the Q3 for sure.

I don't like the battlax because it is mostly a commute tire, I personally bought a pair once.. and found it to but not sticky enough and took forever to warm up.

The bt-16's are good tires. They are not the same as stock bt's that come on your bike. The triple compound rear lasts a decent time for street rides and I and a few others have run them on track days with no complaints. The only one that I know that didn't like them tried them on his Ducati 1098 so I guess if you have 160+ HP then don't get them. For a 600 there great. I think Im going to try the Q3's as I have Q2 dot race tires for the track.

I've run the Bridgestone S20's and they are good tires, never slipped out. Decent mileage too. But they wear a little odd.. the edges are quite soft.

So I found out what I thought was a problem on the Ducati is actually a feature.

Stopping to fill up a long ways from home, I noticed a foot long rubber tube dangling from the underside. My first thought was "crap, this thing is brand new". But running fine and having no lights on, I tucked it up and rode on, figuring I'd have them look at it when I brought it in for service.

Turns out, it's the fuel runoff tank breather hose, and it's not supposed to go anywhere. Ducati tucks it up between the cylinders from the factory, where it typically falls out. Apparently, most owners just pull the charcoal canister off and call it a day.

Picked up the Q3's for my Gixxer. It feels rather strange. I dunno what it is, but I'm having trouble countersteering the bike or getting any lean out of it. I felt fine riding it to the shop, and coming back I just felt a tad uncomfortable.

Any ideas what gives? Am I just being a headcase?

Yup, very common to almost all bikes, don't sweat it.

First question, what brand of tires did you have before that? How many miles are on the new Q3 (ie. are they broken in yet)? If anything... check what PapiOcho suggests.
