Sportbike riders

Well ****. U did what is argueable the worlds most difficult track. So yeah, start with somewhere simple, like the nurburgring gp track.

sucks. i actually had some interest in the 1125r... but as much as i wanted to like their bikes, they just didn't make anything i thought was worth it...

i think i'd love the track with proper instruction. i'm still kinda new to the bike tho, so i'll take time.

You'll learn more on the track in one day than you will riding the streets for a year! Also, the beginner group from what I've seen on most track days is a VERY speed controlled "race". They have classes during track days as well for an extra 100 or so where they'll specifically ride in front or behind you during each ride and then you all meet back in the classroom for critiques, tips, etc. I haven't done that yet, but I think I may next year as this past year I would just keep getting with a control rider before going out, but they won't stick with me the entire time so I only get some feedback afterwards... for fun here is a picture of that going down..

instructer on track = insurance covers the bike.

^ pretty much, but again, call and find out. every policy and company is different.

mine is im in insurance and i can read a policy. it is confusing sometimes tho.

im looking into rider insurance, coverage for temporary disablilty, and or permanent disability coverage as well as long term care coverage.
basically **** to cover me in the event of a nasty wreck that leaves me in hospital and ICU and therapy for a long ass time, or for the rest of my life.
yes i know, scary stuff, but im searching for it.

what can you tell me about this stuff.

insurance differs from state to state. i'm more in property/casualty, however my company sells much more than this.

are u looking into it through work, or on your own?

My basic policy is thru work, blue cross, blue shield. But I don't know how to read policies, nor what it covers. I'm pretty sure it doesn't cover lossof income and long term health care/recovery

Yep. Lost a good friend 1 week ago today, almost to the minute. Be careful out there guys!

Dieing the easy part. Its when you live and your permanently disabled. That's what I'm worried about really.

RIP to your boy tho, I've lost a few myself, in cars and bikes.

snik speak to a local insurance agent. (i work for Nationwide)

there are life insurance policies available that will not only cover you in death, but can also cover your long term medical care in the event you'd be disabled.

I have fairly good benefits, but long term disability is typically provided at a certain level for all employees (say like 70% of salary). You are then ususally able to purchase another 20% for a small fee out of ur check.

Usually long term is yes, 70% of your original pay however it's not taxed, so you end up bringing in the same amount. At least that's what it is for long-term disability with the company I work. I'd assume it'd be the same else where.

typically monies paid by insurance compaies are not taxed.

thats why i get so pissed off when i see some idiot getting $100,000 for stepping off a curb and breaking his ankle.

$100,000 tax free is like making $36,000 for 4 years. Not GREAT money. But when you consider it takes a blue collar guy 4 years to make that and an idiot 5 minutes...there needs to be a cap on 95% of injuries like that. Save the 5% for serious and rediculously negligent acts.

damn that sucks...eventho I wouldn't be caught dead on a Buell I still wouldn't wish shutting the doors on any company...except maybe GM ;-)

On a different note: I never considered a Buell, don't like the styling that much. The Triumph Daytona 675 though, is pure sex if you ask me too bad it's not that comfortable.
