You have to bake open your headlights first to install the rings.

You can follow our baking guide to do so: http://www.jlevisw.com/Bake.pdf

For wiring, you can follow this guide: http://www.fastm.com/m3/angeleyes.html

I hate to bring up an old thread, but I've been trying to find a DIY for it as well, and haven't had any luck! I've looked through both sites, and get the main concepts, but i'm kinda iffy on baking the lights with angel eyes in them, and how to run the wires.. i'm kind of a more visual kind of guy and would like to see pictures of it in process..

Does anyone know if such a DIY exists? that is for facelift coupes? with the pictures of it?

You can use a heat gun as well, email me directly and I can send you some instructions. If you're in the Santa Ana area anytime soon - you can see the kit on vehicles we have here.

Heard bad stories about the possible outcome of a heat gun, and don't have one anyway.. I'd like to see it in person but unfortunatelly will not be in Santa Ana anytime soon.. i appreciate it though, TY

Ya, i've seen this page and it's very helpful, but will the plastic contectors with the wires, that are coming out from the angel eyes, be okay in the oven? and should I just leave them loose in the over on the tray so that they aren't touching anything?

The plastic connectors will be just fine in the oven at this temperature for such a short period of time.

cut the connectors off and splice the wires together using another set of butt connectors of solder, heatshrink, and electrical tape (best method)

no, it's the same thing. those are just the positive and negative leads that sends powers to the ballast.

Sorry for my ignorance, but why do you bake the headlights?

because for the facelifted coupes, our headlight are one piece (corners and headlights together) and they are sealed together by glue. the baking is to melt the glue so we can pry it apart.

srry i should've made it a bit more clear.. are there different kinds of ballasts? or are they all pretty much the same.. I mean I dont want to install them and then burn the angel eyes because I was given the wrong ballast or something..

i still think the facelifted coupes are better angel eyes wise, other than the baking. you can use your own 3m double-sided tape. so it won't fall off (unlike the horrible clips that were put in place for the current ccfl angels where they hit the headlight trim, and can fall off if you have autoleveling eventually) and also, the facelifted ones are almost a full circle.
