are my lights aimed correct ??
i have been trying to get the best light on the road with my new 6000k hid kit and have been having some trouble. i feel that the ground is not lit as much as i would like. from these pics can anyone tell me what i have wrong or if this is how they should be. they seem more bright in the pics but in life the drivers side puts a lot more light to the ground than the pass. I know this because i covered each one. also please look at my cut offs. here are some pics
drivers side only : ![]() pass side only : ![]() both: ![]() please not the cut off on the car in front :

One of the bulbs isnt seated right, its the drivers side.
If you want extra performance, switch to something like 5000k or 4500k. Besides that Its too hard to tell if you have them aimed right, your too close to the wall.

So how does one figure out where to aim them?

The driver side bulb is definitely not seated right.
The passenger side seams to be seated ok but I have the suspicion that the bulb is upside down and the return wire is on top instead of being to the bottom as it should. Just have a look at the straight shadow. |

how can i tell if : the bulb is upside down and if
return wire is on top instead of being to the bottom ? sorry im new to this . also one thing i notice that sometimes the pass side headlight will not turn on when i first start the car then turn on the lights. but then if i turn the car off and back on it will come on. now this does not happen everytime its very random.

the driver side is seated just fine and i can not flip the bulb the other way because there is a notch that it slides into only allowing the bulb to go in one way

yeah im not to happy right now because my halogens looked like they put more light on the road. so on an h7 hid kit which one of those pics about is the correct way the bulb should be ? like i said it can only go in my headlights with the return line on top.

What HID kit did you get? You do realize that the higher the k's, the less light output (lumens)? So your stock halogens at 4300k will put out more light that your new 6000k HIDs using the same amount of power (watts).

I have the Apexcone HID 35watt kit, my stock halogen ( none HID ) sucked and put no light to the ground so I had good luck with a 6000k kit on my A4 so i figured this would be good.

my apex cones work awesome. I'm running the 35w too. Since you upgraded to HID's did you upgrade your heads lamps to projectors?
