Hmmm, would be good. I did enjoy the Corvette's HUD system (only did a test drive, quite cool).

Okay...I did a brief search and found that Siemens VDO/Continental are developing a one fit all HUD system (probably will be licensed tech to car manufacturers). Also there was a brief article from last summer discussing a Microsoft made HUD.

Anywho Chevrolet and Toyota both have cars with working HUDs (that I can remember off the top of my head), you might want to start by seeing what company they went through (or if it was in house).

Best of luck, I'll keep an eye on the thread and hopefully in a few weeks we'll have some nut that has a hud with a diy...lmao.

I heard that you might need a special windshield.
If we use regular glass, there will be two images of reflection.

I'm very interested in also.

you would need some serious electonics skills for this, or pay someone else huge $$ for it.

Defi is the only one that I know of that makes a good HUD. I've had one in my Civic and it worked flawlessly. I haven't had the time to install one on my current car, but will probably pick one up this year. Also might get a few other Defi gauges like this one.

That would be sick. What would you want displayed on your HUD? I think it would be cool to have Oil Pressure/temperature and voltage on there so that you can easily check it. I have never liked the VDO guages in the "sunglass holder" solution.

I saw one in my wholesale car stereo catalog from Accelle. Sounds like speedo interface may be most challenging part since these cars may be databus communication for speed sensor.
