Diamond key Recharging from non diamond key car

Currently I have ugly square shape key.. and it works fine (#1)

I ordered a diamond key and circuit board ****ed up. (#2)

Just got an used bmw key from ebay and programmed works great!! (#3)

Now my question is I think my car doesn't recharge key #3 automatically since my original one is #1.

I think I ****ed up with #2 when I tried to replace a battery from rechargabel to a normal battery.

Is there anyway I can recharge key #3 ??

Unless I'm looking at them from the wrong perspective...All three cuts on your keys look completely different...how are you pullin' that off?

so wait ... are you telling me you got a cut key to another car on ebay? How exactly does that work? Can you recut the key or something? And I'm assuming the dealer can pair the new key to the car's EWS?

Do you do something funny like moving the metal part of your old key to the new one?

As for the recharging part, I could see retrofitting that...

I'm also curious as to what you mean to do with the third key because this SAME EXACT thing just happened to me. Those eBay keys suck, do not order the uncut key blanks because it's not what it appears to be - the roundel is a crappy plastic/glued-on thing that doesnt sit right and the casing is hideously off (as opposed to OEM)..

I'm stuck - I don't know what to do, I think im going to cut the metal part out of my square key and JB-WELD it into the diamond key.

But, yeah - what do you mean to do with Key #3 now? How are you going to make it work in your ignition & doors?

I've never tried this with a BMW key, so I can't say if it will or won't work. However, with my last car, a Saab 9-5, I bought a key minus the computer chip from the dealer cut to my VIN. I then bought a key from ebay. I swapped the internals from the Ebay key to my empty one from the dealership and had the dealer program the key to my car. You might be able to swap the internals from key #3 to key #2. As far as charging, I haven't a clue.
