Hey Alex the previous owner of mine was a smoker and i need to know what is a good Cleaning product to use on the vinyl so i get all that nasty smoke stuff out and have the dye adhere well?

I really want to do this mod it is cheap and relatively easy with a big bang for the buck.

I have been reading up on this for a while, i really want to run a two tone interior and dye my grey vinyl black! but i have read some serious mixed reviews about it pealing off or its easy to scratch off. But it seems like some people have successfully pulled this off. But i am still very skeptical about this, you only get one shot at it and if you F^ there goes you interior...

Here's my thread......unfortunately the pics are no longer up but I have them on my PC.

I used SEM vinyl products which are automitive grade products. The key is to use the vinyl prep and to use several thin coats.....

You'd never know I dyed my interior....my interior was all grey at one point.
I'll post some pics tonight

read this:

Use caution painting plastic pieces...i just bought all new black pieces for my interior to replace the grey ones
