Depends on what you are putting on the rack

I dont go on here much so I don't usually reply back. Actually I forget that I posted and I dont check for people's questions. Yeah there is a story to that. I have Pioneer Navigation and I looked to see if I can take a shorter way to the Grand Canyon. Well the road on the navigation unit looked like a small paved road that I've taken before. The paved road ended after 6 miles. I had 18 miles left which was basically all gravel/dirt! Being stubborn that I am I did not want to hear I told you so by my wife, so onward I kept. I was going about 15-20 mph and it took me 72 minutes to drive through that crap. I wasn't really worried about popping a tire, but more concerned about getting jacked by the hill have eye's.

The suspension is PSS9's. Yes those are splitters.

Here are some old pics

I have the thule system that bolts to the car and a couple of yakima king cobras and I routinely drive to races with 2 dh bikes on the roof through twisty mountain roads.

It makes all kinds of wierd noises though, and I cant tell if they're coming from the bike trays or the mounts where the rack attaches to the car. Anyone else have this issue? Maybe my bolts arent tight enough?

I don't get any noises other than a slight whistling at higher speeds. Definitely tighten EVERYTHING down...make sure it's very snug. I can shake my rack and it transfers all that motion to the car and my car shakes as if I were shaking it myself...

Do they make a wind visor for the OEM roof racks?

I would love to see some pictures of this setup. I have a Yakima system (towers, crossbars, etc.) from a previous car and am about to get the mounts for my E46 sedan, but I really like the idea of using the OEM mounting points. I want to keep using my Yakima tandem rack. I'd consider buying Thule crossbars if the fit is good.
