FS: '02 M3 instrument cluster

Condition is basically brand new...no damage or marks of any kind. I bought it off another forum member very recently, but because my car is an '04 non-M, the coding will not work on mine...has to do with my OEM LED lights. Functionality is 100% in terms of speedo/tach/fuel gauge, etc. Should be plug and play on any pre- '04 non-M's. Asking $325 which is exactly what I paid for it. That includes shipping. Please PM me, as I am not on here all day. Thanks.

Plug and play? I've heard more then twice that the M cluster will not plug and play correctly with a non-m vehicle, anyone heard or know anymore on this subject?

I don't think this will on a non-M car.

OK guys, here's the shortened version of "if the M cluster will fit a non-M car." I will tell you everything I saw which is pretty much everything that all the threads about this have discussed as well.

I plugged this cluster in one time for a day. I drove around with it, so I can verify all of this.

The functionality is there. The tach, speedometer, fuel gauge, and water temp all work perfectly. Instead of the M3's oil temp, that gauage will show our water temp. Where our non-M cars have the useless MPG needle that swings back and forth, the M3 cluster has the water temp. To be honest, I did not notice if it swings back and forth. Even if it does, who cares...our cars do that anyhow.

The RPM lights do NOT light up from 4-9k, and then go out gradually as the oil temp warms up as they do on the M3. They stay on from 7.5k-9k RPMs permanently, which I think is cool for our non-M cars anyhow. I think a yellow dot from 7.5-8k, and then 2 red dots from 8-9k.

You will have a tamper dot. This has been mentioned on every M3 cluster thread. I do not actually know of one person who has re-programmed their cluster to remove this. Lots of talk, but I know nobody. That did not bother me because I plan on keeping my car. That dot is next to the odometer miles if I remeber correctly. Also, the mileage will be of that used cluster, not of your car's miles. Again, there has been talk of re-programming this at the dealer to the last 7 digits of your car's VIN #. I can not confirm this but it's been discussed on the other threads many times.

I just know I liked the cluster, but since I have a 2004 E46, my ECU does not "talk" to the dash regarding the lights at night. My dealer which I have a great relationship told me it's because BMW switched to LED taillights and the ECUs for '04 and up were programmed for this, as well as some other changes.

I am just passing along this info for anyone who is interested. Again, I can not confirm this any more than their word.

I tried to be as honest as I can, and as far as the "plug-and-play", I hope this answers any questions. I was able to find an '04 cluster this week through a local salvage yard of mine (for $400) so I am selling this for $50 less than what I paid for it. Letting it go for $275.
