So the 335i and 135i are not only faster in a straight line than the M3, but faster thru the cones as well.

And, basically the only reason the E46 M3 won is because of its price.

335i FTW!!

Yay, go e46. However I'd still pick a 335i over the the e46 m3, mainly because the 335i is so bad ass. Also the 135 doesn't even look that bad, it's pretty cool actually.

it is fun to drive and i am actually going to the 135i...which is undeniably fun to drive...but we also have to look at those numbers they got with the cars...we have all seen both the M3 and the 335i do 13.2 in the quarter mile and both do 0-60 in 4.8...the 135i should be faster than both so i was very disappointed in the numbers...

The only thing that is scaring me about the 135i is the fact that a lot of owners are now finding out the damage the new tunes are doing to their turbos...which is very disappointing because i really wanted to procede the 135i when i got it.

Anyways overall it was a interesting review...amazing that the e46 is still holding its own

yea according to their website the vert did 0-60 in 5.4 but people have done 0-60 in 5.05 and in the coupe they said 4.8, but people had pulled off 4.75 i believe...i am almost positive that the 135i and the 335i could pull off about the same 4.75 so i am confused as how on their website it says 5.1 or 5.4 i don't remember...anyways whatever

people have pulled off faster than 4.75. Some guy with a stock m3 on oem 18's with tires pulled a 12.7 or 12.8 1/4

You have to also remember the 135 and 335 are brand new in this comparison, the M3 is 6 years old with 50k on the clock and undoubtly the clutch wasnt in the best shape.

I still LOVE the 335, and I think they are very close cars, but I think a newer version of the E46 M3 would have done a little better on the acceleration and track tests.

My Ride: e46 M3 vert, X5 3.0,
I'd buy this article if they used a 2006 M3 with perf pack, not an aging 2002 M3.

people on various forums have also said the 135 is capable of 4.8... who really knows anymore, forums have so much varying info on them.

135i FTL. I like my 328i WAY better. I don't give a damn how much slower it is. 335i and M3 FTW.

My Ride: 99' 323i - sold :(
the 135 is facking sweet to drive...
i rushed to the dealership here to try out the first one they got... and the guy let me push it a bit on some back country roads and we kind of ignored that whole 'don't rev past 6k on a new engine' rule (or however it goes)... and dayamn that thing can haul ayoss.
i'd seriously consider buying the 135 because i think its a really tight little car, and i do like the styling. in person it looks much more attractive... best innovative styling yet, imo

edit:
the e90 e92 styles were pretty sweet, but its a very 'safe' route for BMW to take... the 1ers on the other hand stand out a bit more, imho.

I think the 135i looks WAY different in person. I really didn't like it in magazines, and pictures but after seeing one the other day I have a new respect for it.

Yeah, it looks really nice in person up to the rear, then it looks like they just said "Sh** we need make a trunk for this car, put something together real quick"
