2 questions:

anyone buy from this ebay group yet? seems to have the best price for me in Canada.
http://cgi.ebay.ca/BMW-3-Series-E46-...item2c5e16b92f

anyone know what labour cost may be on the install for those of us who do not have lifts or welders (if needed)?

To bad those are 323/328 headers.

Depends on what need to be done will affect the price of the install. (500-1000). I have seen some fanatics has spent to get headers installed.

Its not worth it to have a shop do it. You can uninstall and install with basic hand tools there are no special tools needed just alot of time.

No welding is involved when swapping OEM headers for aftermarket.

Well I had to get mine welded but that was because I got the wrong ones and had know clue untill I pulled my old ones out. I had to modifie my flanges and extended them 4 inches. But you should not need to unless you get the wrong ones. Which I hope you do not.

question

Me and my Dad are considering doing this to my car, hes the mechanically inclined one and had some questions, hoping you gurus can help us out
1. Will the precat sensors reach the ebay headers without an extension of some sort?
2. I plan on using the AA tune to get rid of the CEL so what would I do with the postcat sensors?
3. Do the studs to the head have to be replaced or do you need a different size for the ebay headers from stock?
Thanks fellas

1. Yes, it will reach (sorry, I misread it the first time)
2. Re-install them onto the headers, there's 2 bungs on each one.
3. No need to replace.

yes

probably just don't install them in the car. This might be a question best answered by AA.

3. Do the studs to the head have to be replaced or do you need a different size for the ebay headers from stock?

OEM studs, nut hardware, and gaskets work great. I bought all new hardware and gaskets just to be sure, but you can reuse the hardware but go ahead and buy new gaskets from the dealer. They're expensive but they work well...

Thanks fellas

2. If the AA tune is set up to delete the post cat sensors then there is no reason to have them in the car.

I couldn't even fit my post cat sensors if I tried. Same story with my friend's 330i. We both used O2 simulators and relocated them.

Would you happen to have part numbers for the OEM studs, nuts and gaskets?

Also, a bit off topic, but what is the consensus about the gaskets that come with BimmerBrakes headers, comparable to OEM quality, or should those be replaced as well?

exactly what I needed.

Are the BimmerBrakes gaskets good enough, or do I still need to purchase the OEM ones?

You want mine I never used them. I was too lazy and forgot to open the trunk and stick the ebay ones on.
