Hmmm, didn't know or don't recall cruise ships ever goin there.
Anyway, yeah, go to Montevideo bay. I can't imagine why a cruise ship would pull in there. There are a couple plantation houses close by, but can't think of anything else there.

Go to Montevideo bay, dress poor, hide your wallet well. Have fun.
Water parks, margueritaville, shopping, several beaches, craft markets, local markets, everything. You name it

Couples is a good hotel.
Feb in Jamaican, expect low 80s to upper 90s.
Once u get there just ask about doing stuff off property.
Canopy tour in ocho is awesome. Also, dunns river falls, go climb that with the wifey. And you can do the horseback tour, the atv tour, lots of shopping in ocho too.

Yeah, everyone says there's not much to see/do in Falmouth, so Montego bay is pretty safe for a couple of Tourists to walk around alone? thanks

yeah man, just go hit "the hip strip" its by the ocean/bay and is lined with hotels and stores and beaches and everything just for tourists. local and foreign. When the ships pull into the montego bay port, thats generally where they take the tourists. its literally on the other side of the bay from the port. Theres a small casino on the strip too, if youre into that.

If you want to check out anything else, you can figure it out from there too.

Any suggestions as to where I can/should stay?

March in Jamaica is already warming up. Expect temps around the 90s.
All the buzz will be about carnival. Not sure what will be available in That regard outside of Kingston.
Find a all inclusive hotel. Beat way to go. I recommend ocho Rios as I mentioned above or negril. Even montwgo bay. also like Portland if you want to make your way over there. But the eastern side of the island is more secluded. So it all depends on what you want.
What are you looking to get into, are you going solo?

Going with my girl... will be our last vocation together for a while as I'm leaving the country for quite a bit. So I want something relaxed.. maybe for a week. A buddy of mine has a hook up on a certain resorts, but I dont recall what city.
I just want a beach, warm weather, beautiful water, and some places to go... I'm sure we'll be staying indoor quite a bit, too.

Jamaica is almost entirely surrounded by beaches. Can't miss. If you find out what hotel, we could find out where and tell u which is best.
Hopefully its a couples only, all inclusive resort. Then u can seriously just chill.
But "just some place to go" man that's hard to tell man. Most resorts habe the basic. Parrasail, glass bottom boat, skuba. Etc. If you want more then you're gonn have to see what they have to offer.
Most hotels don't like when guests go out on their own because, well. Jamaica is a violent country. Its no Mexico, but every once in a while some tourist get in trouble and every few years 1 may even get killed. Sometimes in an accident, sometimes in an altercation. So the hotels try to bring u everything. But you don't see the real country inside the property. Just, its better with a tour guide. Wish I could roll, but I'll be in Germany.

Just got back last week, we hired a private tour driver and drove to Ocho Rios. We picked Ocho Rios over Montego Bay mainly because we wanted to see Dunn River Falls (also heard Ocho Rios is less crowded and less tourists)

-Climbed up Dunn River Falls (way easy, but fun)

-Did some shopping (bought Blue Mountain Coffee and some Rum)

-Ate at a small restaurant called "Mom's cooking" or something like that in Downtown (awesome food)

Overall, Jamaica was our favorite place in the Caribbeans (also stopped in Cozumel and Grand Cayman)

Pasha, I can give you a recommendation for a Tour Guide if you need one

Is the resort exclusive to montego bay?
Mobay is a cruise ship port. Mad traffic on Wednesdays when the ships come in.
There is a marguiritaville, a small casino, several beaches. And the good thing about montego bay. Is if you walk the strip. You'll get a good feel of the place. Yes its resort area still, but a sh1t ton of locals also hang out on the strip. I used to a lot. Several restaurants and stores for shopping.
Don't expect any good deals tho. You've got us dollars and they want as much of it as possible

Depending on how long u stay, see what tours the hotel offers and try a few. If its to a great house. I say bump That. If its too river for rafting, or climbing. Water fall, or touring a liqour estate, or something besides just checking out an old plantation house. Go for it.

Yea man, Falmouth has taken over with a top class ship port, taken away most of the business from Ocho Rios. Its a natural harbour and the Gov't went all out with it, nuff changes down there. Alot of the inbond stores close down in Ochi and moved there.
