First DCT Failure and BMW NA Won't Pay

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142347

To sum it up:

Guy with BMW's new DCT transmission takes his car in for the 1200 mile service. He gets on it hard for the first time and the car takes a dump; he loses gears 2,4, and 6. He takes the car back to the dealer to have it fixed and they find that they didn't service it correctly and they put normal MT fluid in, which is the wrong viscosity and DCT fluid is lifetime. BMW NA says the dealer ordered the correct fluid. He is waiting for the correct fluid to be put back in, and they're going to send him on his way, saying everything should be fine.

I hate bmw as a corporation with such a passion. he should spray paint a big lemon on the side and park it in front of the lot. they will do whatever he wants to save face.

I don't see how vandalizing his own car and then proceeding to leave it on private property will do him any good except for the fact he will have to pay for tow/impound fees and a new paint job.

it would seem everything won't be fine and they'll simply have to give him a new transmission. if they admitted fault I don't see how they wouldn't have to fix it. i guess we'll have to see how it plays out. but from what u described they haven't officially screwed him over yet.
