Trying to decide if I should wait or order now.... advice please?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At first I was going to lease the E92 M3.... but after comparing the numbers its a clear choice that I am better off financing the car. So that being said, I am now ready to order but am thinking maybe I should wait for the 09 model instead. If I order now I wont have the car until the start of August at the earliest, says my dealership... Could be even the middle to late end of August. The 09s will start to be delivered in the start of October. I know the car wont change much, if any.... But I am thinking it would be a smarter move to wait for the 09 since I am actually buying (owning) the car instead of leasing. If I was going to lease, I would take an 08 at a earlier delivery to enjoy the end of the summer with the car....

All I know is 09 models are going to have internet access through the I-drive, thats all as far as changes.... I may not even opt for the internet if there is a monthly charge, which there most likely is.

Its basically an extra two months wait, for a car that wont be a "year old" in a few months. What do you guys think?

We think "gosh, I wish I could buy a new V-8 M3 "

I wouldn't worry about it at all, get it when you want it. One thing for sure though, I would most definitely do a euro delivery if I ever bought a brand new BMW, what would be cooler than a free trip to Germany?

I may be biased though, we are going to Berlin & Hamburg in September.

I'd wait to order an 09'.... There always seems to be issues with the first model year. 01' M3 had con rod bearing issues, 06' M5 made a mess out of the smg gearbox.... It just seems too common.

The smart, logical move would be to wait.

The totally irrational and fun move would be to order now so you can cruise those late August summer evenings in your new ///M

One good thing about waiting would be I can put even more money towards my down payment, thus a lower monthly note. Or I can put that money towards coilovers/wheels/exhaust (thats all the mods I have planned).

The internet will be a nice feature, but just for the fact that they try ripping you off making you pay a monthly fee is a turnoff for me. There should be no reason why we cant get access via our cell phones! BMW is always looking to nickle and dime customers. For god sakes you cant even get leather as a standard feature in BMW

Id wait for the 09

Also, regarding the internet. Itll be an EDGE connection, which is about the speed of dial up. So besides the fact that internet in an M3 is sort of retarded, the speed is crap. Also, BMW is going thru AT&T, which means there will be a monthly charge.

I wouldnt call it an all out sports car, like your making it seem.... I drove one the other day and unless you are feeding that b!tch gas, you would never think you are in a new M3. The seats were comfy as could be, the ride wasnt harsh at all (especially compared to the E46)... Then you floor it and its like wow..... I need one of these.

Wow, why the hell would they use EDGE? That really sucks. Whatever, wasnt anything I was looking forward to anyway, like I said in my original post I probably wouldnt even get it. I knew there would be a monthly fee, screw AT&T and BMW all together when it comes to extra monthly fees.

I may just hold out until the 09 model is released. Hopefully we can get fully LED tails as a nice surprise. I still dont understand why the E46 M3 has full LED tails and the E92 got a half a$$ LED job done to it.

Yea and the right/smart purchase is to go with the 09 forget about the 08's they just won't cut it for the same price.

I'd go for the newest possible model and wait the extra few months if I was spending that kind of $$$

2009 FTW just wait it out
