So $320,000 is less than $80,000 now?

You would've been better off buying parts to fit into that sedan, or better yet another coupe, sorry i have no love for the 4 doors lol. Anyways GL on this and as much as i don't agree to sabotaging a perfectly good M3, it doesn't change the fact that this is a interesting project(unique?).

The coupe is more than double the money of a sedan here. I also want it to be as much of a genuine M3 as possible, using as many parts I can. it's easier and cheaper to use a complete car, all those parts are not cheap..

I'm subscribing just to see all the pansies in here whine about ruining an M3, asking the same dumb questions and making the same dumb statements over and over and over.

JeppeJ: great project! Looking forward to following this one!

I already found you a nice one .... It's an '01 w/ 54K miles. Its running and has pretty good options... would go around $ 15-18K and 1500-2000 for shipping.

Started working on the cars today.

Finally they meet. What a cute couple...

One part off, 1 million left..

Started working on the front fenders to see how much difference it is between the M3 and sedan. And there was more of a difference than i thought..

The M3 fender is longer, and the door on the M3 is placed further back.

The M3 fender is also taller. Here is the sedan fender mounted on the M3. Will need to get hold of a skilled body shop guy for this. Because you have to shorten the fender I think the gills will have to go. Not to much of a worry, the car will only get a cleaner look without them I think.

But apart from that it fits perfekt...

Started to tear the 318 apart. Forgot to emty the AC system, so will have to get equipment for that tomorrow. Thats how far I got today, continue on sunday.

why didn't you buy a 318 coupe? I think that you wouldn't have those problems whit it.

no offense or anything but i find this project to be very pointless. i hope u know that none of the interior parts from the m3 (other than the front seats and maybe the dash area) are going to fit in the sedan. why would u get the fenders of the m3 but get the side gills taken off, why not just go with a custom widebody on it? if i were to do this project i would go with only the engine, transmission, lsd (if it fits) and the rest i would do custom. just my 0.02
