added navi to my order but 1 QUESTION

I went to the dealer today and added the new DVD based NAVI with 16/9 display and TV function to my order

So I said: HEY now the navi is DVD based.... I can play a dvd movie now!

He said: NOPE only routing dvd's...

if this is true then why DVD????

anyone knows better?

Becuase with a DVD they can hold 8gigs of maps instead of less then one. So the system knows the hold country instead of just a small area.

Because you can put more info on a DVD than a CD. In the US you need to buy like 7 CDs for the different zones while 1 DVD does the job now. 1 CD=$120 (approx). I guess since Europe is soooo small you could get by with one CD ( Sorry....bad joke,eh?)

Good joke but then again the european union is still growing

maybe we will outgrow US in the future

Ok.... this explains why they use DVD instead of CD but then there still is no watching the Matrix on my NAVI-TV then

Somewhere in the general forum someone gave the link to a company who can rig your navigation system to play DVDs and video games. Personally I took a pass because if I was able to do that I would probably watch porn and my M3 gets me way too aroused already.
