Question Ebay Headers for E46 M56?

I was wondering if i could put ebay headers on my 325i 04 M56 engine, okay now that's an m56. yeah yea i know its hard to mod and all that . I just need to know if the headers are the same or different from m54 engine. If anyone has the answer to this please let me know. Also if it's possible to fit m54 headers, what kind of mods do i need to make to get the fit right?

Thnx for your time, appreciate it =D.

325/ 330 Headers are 100% the same. But I don't know about M56. Did you check out Kpengs thread on Ebay headers. Answer is probably in there. Or a search would probably find it pretty quick "M56 headers"

They are but he has the SULEV motor, which is different from the M54B25 and M54B30 (aka normal 325i and 330i motors).

As far as I know they should attach just fine although Im sure the SULEV engine has a far more restrictive exhaust system and you would also need to replace that to get the most out of your system.

Well for the actual exhaust manifolds themselves, OEM:

M56 - 18407515104 and 18407515105

M54 - 18407514502 and 18407514503

Part numbers are different and the M56 ones are more expensive.

However - the gaskets have the same part numbers - 11621732969 (engine to manifold) and 18107502346 (manifold to exhaust). That's possibly an indication that they use the same sized manifolds with different catalytic converters... if you're willing to take the risk and test fit then props to you, can't promise anything though. Maybe someone with an M56 and experience can chime in?

because it's supposed to be environmental friendly. Like low emissions and stuff. I see a lot of smoke bombs roaming around the street these days and no1 says anything, i don't even know how they pass their emissions test.

M56 is not the same as an M54, you cannot use ebay headers on them.

325/330 is the same, but a M56 is SULEV and a useless hippy mobile.

I'm sure they use the same sized headers.. they have different cats though that electrically warm up which is why they've got a different part numbers. Of course if you've seen directly that the M56 doesn't work with ebay headers then that's understandable but as far as I can see they should work.. They didn't change the actual design of the engine between the M56 and the M54, just the fuel delivery and SAC components.

Here's a full sheet of the differences for anyone interested - http://www.ge39.com/files/M56sulev.pdf

I love my SULEV, also there is "carcus" who has the same exact car as mine and he did a lot mods in his. Kinda expensive because it Dinan, but yeah, nothing comes cheap on a bmw. One of my buddies has a non SULEV 325i and i did his spark plugs for him, piece of cake i didn't have to remove the microfilter filter or anything, just the engine cover. When i did my spark plugs i had to remove the micro filter housing because you can never reach the last plug.

To hell with all this ebay header sh*T if i had money, id get a S/C , can't go wrong with that
