My Ride: 2000 323i
Allow me to introduce myself...

Just purchased a 2000 323i about two weeks ago. It has 120k. I've already done several things, thanks to the help of DIYs on this site and others. Here is what I've done so far:

- Oil change
- Air filter replaced
- Fuel filter replace
- MAF cleaned
- VANOS seals
- Tracked down vac leaks at the evap canister and the intake tube
- Seafoamed

When I replaced the VANOS seals, I discovered a rather large amount of sludge, which didn't make me too happy, hence the Seafoam. I'm in the process of trying to get most of that out at the moment, but other than that, it's running pretty good.

My last vehicle was a Ford Explorer, so I'm pretty excited about the fun-to-drive factor of this car.

nice.. 323i ftw. You'll definantely have a lot of fun with the car. Im actually in the middle of doing seafoam with my car right now. I should pry get back outside and start the smokescreen. Wish me luck...

Hey man

Sorry to hijack your thread but I was wondering if you could post the DIY for the VANOS seal. Also is the VANOS seal the same thing as "time valve cover gasket".

Also where are the gromets and hold downs?
