thanks guys im doin my best. Actually with autocad you can make more precise models cause there are mesaurments and stuff, but CATIA is even better heres a tutorial how you make a rim in that program but keep in mind that this is spline modelling and not polymodelling(which im doin)

cool man, be sure to learn it properly cause the real professionels using catia like engineers at bmw, mercedes and most of the big companies. I made one render there will be another later, just for testing the shaders hehe

Yeah Catia is sweet. I used it once when I went to Newport News shipyard to look into a drafting program that they had. Its really cool how you can design whatever, and view it lifesize from every angle.

Wow your work is amazing. I have engineering drawing right now at my high school but we only use turbo cad (2d stuff).
Two questions:
1) is the software your using the $3.5k stuff?
2) How much memory does this take (how much do you need?)

thanks guys, yes this is the rim that a drew (modelled) the price for this sofware is around $4000, but can get a learning version which is free, i have a cracked version. xD i have 8gb of memory, since i have vista 64 bit, it takes full advantage of the 8 gb so i have no problem with big scenes with about 12 million polys. im plannning to switch to xp 64 bit cause this vista sucks **** for doin 3d stuff, not really stable.anyway its better if u have 8gb, but of course u can run the program with 1 gb but expect lots of crashes when ur using high res textures and high poly modells.. Heres the pic of the viewports. i post the rear tire soon

thanks for the compliments so i put the rear tire in the scene too and made a studio render as well.
