DIY: 2-tone door panels ••pics••

OK I'm finally undertaking this after putting it off for about a month. Got the door panel off this morning—after being continuously distracted by the hot MILF vacuuming her car next door—but now I'm discouraged already! There are about 30 rivets holding the insert piece on. My plan is to re-vinyl the door panel insert with gray Whisper vinyl.

I did research this and read about these rivets so I was kinda knew what I was getting myself into...although I couldn't find a DIY with actual pics so I didn't realize just how much of a PITA these things would be to remove. The tops of the rivets were melted to securely hold the insert piece on and most of them are half buried into the plastic.

OK, time to get out the Dremel. I need words of encouragement!

I'll update with pics as this DIY takes shape...

Ok, it's not as bad as I thought using a carbide cutting wheel on the Dremel to cut off the melted tips of the posts holding the panel pieces together...
