If BMW made their cars for the more focused enthusiast crowd they'd be out of business within weeks.

They seemed to do pretty well for the last 30 years with the 2002 till the e46. Until Bangle jumped in and BMW decided to make a million more series instead of the classic (3,5,7), and boost sales. I don't blame them for wanting to make more money. But they could have done it while keeping their roots much like Mercedes and Audi.

It just doesn't look complete. I dunno. I'm trying so hard in my mind to find "it" and I just can't. Bah.

the front < the back

i wouldnt say its a beautiful car, but it has some nice angles. i think the front looks too soft with the flush bumper but the lights look good. the profile it good as usual and in the back i have nothing to complain about.

i figure this is a design that will grow on me as i get used to it.

mercedes added (in the last 10 years or so)
C
SLK
CLK
CLS
ML
GL
R
G

What did BMW add?
Z4
X3,5,6
and the 6 they just brought back....... so that doesn't really count

Its the STYLING

That first pic is absolutely terrible.......... when you look at the body line, I thought it was an IS350

Its ok tho, I have non car enthusiasts still tell me my car is better looking than the new ones, so i'm still happy

I agree with you. Looks better than the E65. Its just gonna need some time to grow onto everybody, just like the E65 did, and look at that now..... almost every wealthy family in Orange county has one

This cracks me up- because if we somehow search up an E65 post, it will be almost identical. 2 people liking the car and 438 people not liking it. I can't wait till people start seeing the car in person to see if opinions will sway.

Some cars that werent popular till seen in person:

E90
E63
E65
FG Civic
W221 S-class

I feel ya ^^. But the 6serie def grew on on me, especially very clean lipped/dropped ones. E90s on E90 post are very clean and they are going towards a completley modding direction than the E46. The E65 facelift is nice, and a very comfy car to drive- still sick to see the modded too. Iono I'm kinda off topic-ing in regards to the fact I'm comparing everything modded. Like I said, this body style ///M7 will be sick.

For all of those who (like me) think chris bangle is not designing up the standards we hold BMW to, go here

http://www.petitiononline.com/STOPCB/petition.html

Sign it.

Even if this new ugly 7 with kidney grilles the side of 1 series headlights is ok looking, its definately not what the 7 should be...i agree that it looks like a lexus. and that Chris Bangle should be fired.
