Is there an RCA cable at the back of the car for connecting a reverse camera?

Hi

I have been researching reverse/back up cameras, to add to my 2005 318.

I have the TV in it so want to use it for the camera.

I think I understand it all, but before I pick up the screwdriver I just want to check: is there a cable to connect the RCA to at the back? In other words is the car already wired for this?

If not I need to not just buy a kit but figure out how to get to the TV and plug something into it?

Thanks for the advice!
Ryan

Pull the head unit to check for the connectors. There are several DIYs here for removing it. Should take more than 10 minutes. Also, goto www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 characters of a the car's vin. Then scroll down to audio. Same for http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html.

Thanks Markusmarkus!

I was hoping to not have to disassemble half the car. I was hoping the factory had put a cable there when they built it.

Oh well it will be an adventure...

Pulling the head unit is easy! Remove the trim that goes across the dash and then remove the 2 screws holding the head unit.
