Day time running lights

I was wondering how to turn my day time running lights on. I've read a bunch of threads on turning them off but never on. Do I still need to get my key programmed to make them work?

Getting the key programmed from what I read is about $80? Any one with experience?

I don't think the key is programmed, except for lock operation. They can probably the DRLs or find a forum member that could do it, lot's of software available to do this type of stuff.

This thread will probably get moved by a moderator since it isn't XI specific.

I personally haven't done this for the DRL's, but I do have PA Soft and could if I want I guess. For less than the $80 your thinking about, I took an old laptop and got it all set up. I have done other things, like turned on automatic door locking. Turned on light flash when locking and unlocking. And cleared my SES light. Here's a wonderful thread about PA Soft.

The reference to the DRL's is a little over half way down through the screen shots. Good luck!!

Moved to the lighting section.

You need PA soft 1.4 (costs $40) and you can enable the lights in the LCM module.
