Question Xenon light issues.... Please help.

The basic story:

initially when a bought my E46 2003 330i the left hand light would flicker and then fail every once and a while. Then i started happening to the right light (neither of which would fail at the same time). When the light failed I could turn the lights off and on and they would turn back on for the most part. Recently, I havent had any real issues (maybe the lights failing 2 or 3 times a week) but about 2 days ago the left light failed and wouldn't come back on even if i to turned the lights off and on. tonight i went to go out and neither of my lights turned on, not even a flicker......

Ive heard that earthing the brake lights can help flickering lights but now that both have failed i think it may be the ignitor or something else.

As a first time E46 owner (plus im not made of money ) i would really like to fix this issue myself.

If anyone out there could assist me i would really appriciate it, including products, sites, youtube tutorials, etc, etc.

What was the color of the light output of the bulbs? (pink/purple??) If so replace the light bulbs.

Question

thanks for that solidjake. ill have to go check.

Quick question, if it is both the bulbs what would cause both of them to die within 1 day of each other?

cheers

No problem. Well, anything is possible lol. It might have been extremely bad timing for both of them to go at once. I would take out the bulbs and just check the connectors that go to them to make sure there is no corrosion. Also look at the wiring on the ignitors, they may be frayed or the connector to the ballst that is causing the lights to be out
