hmm..i can't really remember my first time doing it. but i went real slow so i'm thinking an hour to take out the headlights (had headlight washers so i had to figure out how to do that) and 3-4 hours for baking and running the wires. then another hour or so to put the headlights back in. so around 6+ lol iono. sounds fair for first time DIYers. nowadays, taking out the headlights takes me 10 mins tops. putting them in takes me 10 mins. baking + wiring = 3 hours (i take longer on the wiring process because i like to aim for the most stealth OEM look I can get).

Roddykaregaran, how's the project going? The reason you didn't find the spray at kragen is because it's not available there, if you read the previous pages, a number of people asked me about it. It's sold a hobby shops. I was going to use the tint on my friend's car, but never did. Interested to see how it turns out though.

It takes a few hours to do it if you know what to do, if not it's a lot longer.

Post pics if you're done! I gotta see how it turned out..

it's sold at hobby stores. there's a couple different kinds, but they all work the same. people at hobby store will know what you're talking about

Sorry but I won't be able to help you out with sealant, I have no idea bout which on is used in the headlights.

+1.. Assuming you have an 05, if you have a coupe you'll need to bake it, a sedan then your life is a lot easier!
The wet sand is typically a good idea to help the paint adhere to the lens. One really good paint that's specifically made to tint lights is VHT Nite Shades. I've used it to tint the lights on my prior car and it holds up great!

so i just installed angels from roddy's car.

i also tinted the chrome on my spare set of headlights. i did the first coat and it already made a big difference. i went with 2 coats. will post pictures later. headlight doesn't have projectors so you'll just have to imagine lol

here you go, here's come pictures of the process. i'll take pictures of them in the headlight lense with the black trims later for reference. but since my headlights are being worked on, that's the closest i can get to a complete headlight lol

pictures taken from roddy's iphone:

1 coat of tint (gave it more of a black chrome look. i actually like that a lot more than 2 coats)

2 coats (gave it more of a satin metal looks, also looks good)

i could go more, but i didn't want to go that much darker. it won't go with my car lol

That's fine.. Just get it done b4 then! (It's too technical for me to do something like that, but I'm very interested to see what it looks like, looks pretty sick on prefacelifts/Ms IMO)

How did roddy's install turnout? any pics?

Hey is there a DIY for a switch for Angel Eyes to turn them on/off manually while the car is on?
