DDM Tuning E46 LED tails... How do they work?

Anyone purchase the E46 LED Taillights from DDM Tuning?

They're an unbelievable $140+shipping and, if they work, they will be my next mod.

Website link: http://www.ddmtuning.com/e46ledtacand.html

Before I make my purchase, I would like to know a few things from current owners:

1) Will the "00-03 Coupe & M3", "Red/Clear" set fit and function properly with my 2001 BMW 330ci Convertible?

2) How do you like them?

3) Were there any manufacturing defects or other things that turn you off about them? (e.g. condensation in the taillights, etc)

4) Were there any other items required to make your E46 LED taillights fit or function properly?

5) Would you buy them again?

Thanks in advance for the input!

How many threads do you wanna post.

Just remember this, if it is from EAGLE EYES, it should work fine. This is what almost all vendors sell. I've been using mine for about half year now, not a single problem..perfect..1 of the best mods I did..for small amount of $ made a big difference.

Hmm. I've been having a few problems with mine lately. First my passenger blinker started working only when it wanted to. Then, yesterday my friend told me my driver's side wasn't illuminating when I hit the brakes. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with these EE taillights yet because I can't seem to find replacement resistor packs anywhere. They might have to go.

You may have gotten a faulty unit. Ask for replacement ? I got mine from Euro-spec this year February. Your car is a preface coupe yeah..shouldn't have a problem.

meansartin14, they will not fit your car. Vert tails and coupe/m3 are slightly different. DDM tuning offers Eagle Eye tail light and they do not make a vert fitment. You will have to go OEM

Plan on getting the computer flashed, so it doesn't show bulb out...I know it has resistors...but I had 2 sets, and BOTH had bulb out warning initially (went away after brake press...didnt come on at all if brakes were pressed on startup)

Here is my answer to your question on Bimmerforums:

The first thing to consider is that the coupe versions will not work with your convertible. We are working on an aftermarket LED solution for the convertible folks but the coupe is a different fit.

I have these installed in my sedan and I LOVE them. They are an easy upgrade and really change the look of the car to the updated coupes/convertibles. I highly recommend them if and when a convertible option becomes available.

I have not had any fitment issues or installation problems both during the install and afterwords. We have sold this brand for 2 years now and fully stand behind it as a solid product. In terms of aftermarket upgrades, it really is a top notch piece.

Unlike many vendors, unless we actually manufacture the product, we do not brand them as DDM or Apexcone. The LED tails we sell are made by Eagle Eyes. From the beginning they have been DOT and sold without kludge fixes as some vendors did in the past by modifying units meant for the European market.

We warranty BOTH taillights as a pair for one year from purchase. If one goes out, put your stockers back in and send us both of them. We replace them both or repair them.

On the convertible, the factory cannot get the computer in the car to not throw a bulb out warning message. Also, you cannot flash the car and get it to work with these reliably either. The EE tails do not work without the electronics packs and flashing it doesn't make the car happy with those packs in there.

Right now, the best solution for verts is to buy the factory lights, install them and flash the car.
