It depends. I use an answering service. So she's (and they are all "shes") not really a receptionist, since she doesn't greet anyone at the office and is, in fact, about 40 miles away. But they do a really good job, I think.

Yeah--it's about $250 per month. No lunch breaks, no sick days, no gaps in coverage. Plus they will track me down at either of my offices or even on my cell phone. They also have a kick-ass voicemail system that e-mails me a .wav file when I get a voicemail. So, no matter where I am, I get my VMs instantly on my smartphone. It makes my life much, much easier.
