I also had a bottle of Big Black Voodoo Daddy last night. It was amazing as well (Cowmoo, if you want a bottle of this, too, just let me know! $8/22 oz.). http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/13371/31548 |

Same here in MD, I have always assumed since I can't order wine and have it shipped, its the same for beer.

It sounds to me like a fridge-raid is in order. Lets just meet there and call it a party. Should we tell Matt?

Picked up some Laguintas Censored Rich Copper Ale tonight. It's not bad at all. It has an almost fruity smell, but has a nice malty flavor.

I just recently had Arrogant Bastard Ale, and Magic Hat Roxy Rolles, anyone had these? I thought they were both good. They were like an Ale, with a lot of hoppyness to them.

I've had them both. I love Arrogant Bastard, but not a huge fan of Roxy Rolles. IIRC, it was very very malty.

Out of the 2, I did find arrogant bastard to be better. I didn't think the Roxy Rolles was very malty, you could taste it, but not over the top.

I liked arrogant bastard . . a nice strong, hoppy ale without being too sweet.
That's my new quest - finding really strong but relatively dry (not sweet) ales. I've been violating my "don't drink any beer brewed more than 500 miles away" rule lately to enjoy the occasional bottle of Dogfishhead 90 minute IPA - which is pretty darn dry for 9% ABV. Also broke the rule to try a "Criminally Bad Elf" from Ridgeway in England - a Barley Wine at 10.5% but dry enough that it tasted similar to white wine. So on Christmas my wife gave me a gift certificate to a local brew your own beer place and signed me up for a brew session. 2 days later I brewed up 12 gallons of a souped up clone of Rogue Dead Guy Ale. I basically used an all-grain recipe for Dead Guy, using Rogue's own Pacman yeast, and kicked it up a notch with 3 lbs of dry malt extract. Today I'm going by there to rack it off to a couple of 5 gallon kegs for conditioning at home. I'm excited to see how it's doing! |

Good call. If I'm drinking a few, I like the 60 Minute better, but the 90 Minute is definitely a great beer.
I actually saw some at Total Wine a couple weeks ago and almost bought it, but I didn't. I'll have to pick some up.
