that kind of sucks...I'm going to Germany this year for Oktoberfest. I've never been, so I don't know what to expect. Regardless, I'm sure I'm going to have a blast and have some great beers.

Germany is definitely a great country, and I absolutely love Munich, just don't expect much in the way of variety. You'll have a lager and think "Yep, that's a lager"...

Loving my vacation in Colorado right now. Have had a lot of beers so far.
Left Hand- Wake Up Dead RIS, Good JuJu, Polestar Pilsner, 400#Monkey, and Sawtooth Ale. Pilsner was delish and the RIS was sweet but super chocolatey with big florals of licorice.
Had some Odell 90 Shilling Ale and Myrcenary Double IPA-super good! I'd put it up there with Pliny the Elder.
Also had some Hazed and Infused which was good and with only 4.8% ABV, I could drink that all day.

Tomorrow going to Odell, Fort Collins Brewery, New Belgium, and Oskar Blues!

You make a valid point. After coming back home and being served a 12oz beer I was severely disappointed. I love that 2 beers = 2 liters over there.

(this is how I remember most of it)

My friend and I got stuck in Munich for an extra night when the one time the Germans screwed up the train schedule happened to involve our train. We checked into a hotel and immediately went back to the Hofbrauhaus. 2/3 of the nights in my life I have spent in Germany were spent there

I had my first sampling of Russian River Brewing: Damnation Ale.

Damnation is a Belgium Style Ale, and it is very good. It has nice citrus notes, and is medium body. The finish is clean with a touch of dryness...not too spicy. I'd say its very flexible with meal choice. If you can find it, I'd say have a bottle or two. Totally worth the $6/bottle.
