Clean/empty trunk, shift sooner, good tire pressure. I was averaging 26+mpg mixed for a long time. Im down to about 24 now

Op, consider your avg mph too.

Reset your cluster, and drive for a few minutes on the highway, toggle your obc to the mph readout, and compare it to your mpg readout.

These two numbers obviously directly relate to each other, and IMO its a necessary variable for determining if your mpgs are on par.


I get 16.1 mpgs on an average speed of 16mph "LA City driving"

If I do the reset, and let the obc calculate on a higher MPH like on a highway, I get something like 28-30mpg/65-70mph.

My Ride: 99' 323i ZSP/S52 E34
I'm in nyc also and was seeing 17 mpg I coast as much as I can now and bumbed it up to 20mpg. I was wondering if anybody knew what would actually be better, does the ms42 shut off the injectors when coasting in gear or would I net better mpg coasting in neutral?
