Flame suite time....!

With the engines in our BMW's, their is no way to get that sound. A Porsche, Ferrari or maby a G35 might be able to produce the sound your looking for. If you do want that sound, would probably need F/I or a different car all together.

As a airline pilot, I too LOVE the sound of a jet engine spolling up in the morning, with the smell of burning Jet-A gas.

..or get one of those things that stick in the exhaust and makes that supercharged sound...j/k

What the hay? Lets see, based on your ridiculous theory (higher HP = louder), sounds like you should get some more HP.

I think you heard a wastegate dumping to the atmosphere... sound just like a jet engine

That being said. My M3 with no cats and a Magnaflow exhaust tuned to 321 RWHP sounds like a V-12 with straight pipes @ redline w/ WOT.

Downside is my car is super super super raspy unless I am past 50% throttle where it gets really loud and throaty and then as the rpms rise it gets that primal scream sound.

You just need to get a turbo and dump the wastegate to the atmosphere. the exhaust is super quiet on turbo cars and all you will hear is the rising whooosh like you are about to take off. Its great when you are making serious power but its just annoying if its a slow turbo car with an open wastegate. Then it sounds like your about to take off, but your not even going that fast.

Cool My bad for not proof reading...prior to posting

EDITED mode:
How to tuned in an engine to sound like it like a jet engine?
In theory, the higher the HP the louder your engine gets. This is typical when you have the boost in your car, eg: SC or TC. I'll rather have the sound of the jet engine, the sound that your hear when it's about to take off. I've heard this on a MR2 before so would like to get some inputs from the wise men in this forum who are really into tuning unlike those fools who just open their mouth w/o sense.

To those of you who wish to degrade someone who have 4-5hrs sleep a night in 2.5 yrs straight, do not F...K with me. Read about sleep deprivation and educate yourself.

To those of you who responded intellectually and in a mature professional manner, I salute you for that with great appreciation.

Have a sound clip of your car? I would love to hear it

Get a turbo with antisurge, most notorious "jet sounding" turbo is the HKS T51's and the Borg Warner S300's and S400s. My days as longtime member of Supraforums speak for that. Take a look at this BMW 328 with the borg warner turbo:

and here's a MKIV Supra running the same turbo except with a bigger wheel:

I love the Borg Warner turbo, it's much cheaper than the HKS, has domestic support and can be rebuilt for a few hundred. I wonder if Chris will put that on the HPF Kit if a customer requests it instead of the Precision Turbo. It would make sense to put a Euro based turbo on a Euro car.

2x SSQV + Antisurge jet sounding turbo + E46 M3 =

P.S. I realized I leaked my plans when I pick up an E46 M3 by stating the above. lol
