i duno, on the freeway... i would assume you mean straight line, long distance top speed...

in which case i would GUESS the M6, but honestly i have no idea

M6: 1785kg, 507hp@7,750 = 3.52kg/hp
M3: 1655kg, 420hp@8,300 = 3.94kg/hp

I'd guess they may be pretty equal at start, but the M6 would slowly pull away afterwards.

I have the answer and its brutal. The M6 IMBRASSES the new M3 there neck and neck until the M6 GETS IN 3RD gear then it walks away by like 6 CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the new M3 racing all the competition on video! Its NO MATCH for the M5 and Deffinitely not the M6. You guys have got to check out these videos! They race from 30 mph to 160mph! So the races are even!

Something to think about. the new m3 has a quater mile trap speed of 113 mph, the M5 116 mph, AND THE M6 118 mph because its lighter.

I think that from 0-60 both cars will be almost even. At high speeds the M6 will probably pull away due to more HP.

Why would the answer be brutal?

If the M3 was a better car performance wise than the M6 why would any one buy a M6. To me common sense dictates that a M6>M3.

M5board did a race between the new M3 and the M6 on in a straight line and the m6 pulled away hard no question...the M6 is a bit faster in a staright line.

Sometimes I must really wonder about you guys

The M3 and the M6 are made for a totally different purpose. The M3 is more of a car for the track and the "twisties", whereas the M6 is more a GT Cruiser for straight lines.

It's one thing to compare performance one to one, but a whole different story to claim one car actually being better than the other.
