What to use for a "custom" tune? Programmable chip?
I'm a little new to chip tuning for E46's. I've read all about the standard burned chips from AA, Dinan, etc, but I also read about people saying you need to get the car "tuned."
In my world, that means a live tune on a dyno, with someone changing parameters to meet your specific car's needs (not just changing values generically for a mod). How do you go about this? Are there programmable rom chips you can buy? Do you need special software? I'd much rather get an engine specific tune than a mail-order tune. Thanks! -Adam |

There is a "Shark Edit" that's waiting to be released: http://www.bonnevillemotorwerks.com/sharkedt/

So what are people using to get tuned now? Like what is used for S/C installs and such?

There currently aren't many tuners out there with the capability to tune the MS45.1 DME. SharkEdit may change that in the future. Last edited by TxZHP04; 09-15-2008 at 10:15 PM. |
