So why do BMW sell a Xenon enabled headlight switch at $300+ as the correct part to use with retrofit Xenons?

they are just trying to swindle you. you don't need the part at all. just a reflash, however you will lose your high beams if you do, unless you do some extra wiring to make the bixenon function work. getting that LCM still does you no good as far as highs go

When you say Bi-Xenon, do you mean normal and high beam Xenon?
My Xenons are bi-xenon, in that they have the shutter - so what do have to do in the end to make it all work as if fitted from factory? |

yes as in the shutter. there's a DIY somewhere, where you basically use a relay and the trigger wire connects directly to the LCM pin that activates the shutters

Man, this was supposed to be Plug and Play and now it's a mission!
I'll check it out- cheers for the tip. I don't suppose there's BMW part use to make it simple. |

If I may suggest in this picture pushing down is not the best way as you may damage the auto leveler, you need to spread those tabs apart to get the ball to come out of its socket. just put a Flathead in there rotate it and pull on the shroud from the front and it will pop apart

Installed my Xenons and the fever has gone lol!
I went to my BMW Indy who have a computer and they said they cannot flash the LKM to accommodate Xenon lamps as they say you must have a 'Xenon Ready' Headlamp / LKM? Can they do it to a normal LKM / Headlmap Switch? |

I wish I would have read this 30 minutes ago, because it appears I just damaged my auto-leveler. I'm ![]() ![]() ![]() pissed.

Uh i think you posted in the wrong diy, but the washer hose isn't connected to the headlight at all. It's completely separate

What white nut? Usually everyone breaks the white thing at the end of the autoleveling arm

you can't. you can only get them from old headlights. seems a lot of people keep breaking them. i've only broke once off the thousands that i've opened. i should start keeping stock and selling them to you guys LOL

how bad can it be. most of the time when you break it, it's the other side going into the rectangular hole. the piece that holds it in that is broken. pm me a picture?
