Max width wims on sedan [10" wide on the rear?]

ok, i know coupes can fit 10" rears, most say sedans can fit 9.5" but with what offset will 9.5" fit a lowered sedan?

im looking at a deal on some wims, the fronts are good to go, but the rears are 18 x 10 et45

will that offset and width work on my sedan, sittiing on H&R cupkit?

im not sure if u can go wiv 245/40 but definitely 225/35 gonna look the best but in that case u may need some spacers to make a nice look

spacers with a 10" wide rim on a sedan? no, that def wont work. youre right about the tire tho, now that i think about it, 245 probably wouldnt fit it.

width is not the only one thing what u r lookin at et is the most important thing. if u lookin at bbs rsII u shouldnt have any prob wiv 225/35. depend what r u looking to get.
look at this http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/6351/img0165tx4.jpg thats the way how tyre look nice when is stretch

that is frickin retarded looking. im not putting a 225 on a 10" wide rim. thats for people that pose and dont drive hard. plus it makes your rims more vulnerable to bends.

the width is the biggest factor in this case because its basically the widest thing that can fit on a sedan without serious fender modification. Plust my car is lowered, so i have to be certain that a et45 offset is the correct one for a 10" wide rim. at a minimum, id run 245s, but ideally id want to keep my 255 rears so id have minimal stretching.

i just need to find out for sure if 10" can actually fit a lowered sedan without serious fender modifications.

I am on a 19 x 9.5 with an et45 in the rear, 265/30 tire and my fenders are cut, lower with UUC V2's and I rub quite a bit.

why wouldnt u be able to run a 245 tire on a 10? thats perfect imo. thats what i ran on my coupe and it was a very mild stretch

you wont rub with those 18's

225, on a 10" is too much of a stretch, I have 225/40 on my current 8.5" and it stretches too much as far as I'm concerned.

Cd330, where do you rub, on the side or the thread. I'd it making contact at that lil spot where the bumper and fender meet?
Can you post a pic please?

Mcr_driver, what offset are your 18s?

Here's what I figure. With my et38 18x8.5 wrapped in michelin 255/35s fenders not rolled, I rub slightly at the bumper/fender meeting point, and only on dips. So a et45 18x10 is .75" wider on each side, that's about 18mm more rim on each side. I know I have about another 1" of clearance on the inside of my rear rim. But a et45 offset only moves the wheel centerline in about 7mm. That leaves another 12mm where the 18x10s would stick out further than my 18x8.5s. That 12mm can mostly be taken care of by rolling the fenders.
So with a 10" rear on a sedan I have to roll my fenders.

Are my calculations/estimates correct?
Can anyone running 10s or 9.5s on a sedan post close up pix so I can see the tire fender relationship please?
