This thread fails if you're talking about NYC and don't include a deli on the list.

Katz Deli, Lower East.

BTW, no one included Rice To Riches for desserts!
Rice To Riches, although overpriced, is so good, my favorite, sex, drugs, and rockyroad, and the tiramisu.

Lombardi's was ok, but not great. According to Bon Apetite (sp?) magazine, the best pizza in the states or world is supposedly in Phoenix, AZ at Pizzeria Bianco. Tried to go there, but the wait was 3 hours in 98+ degree heat, so didn't get to try it. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to try it next time I go back home.

Totonno's Pizza is ok, but their garlic knots taste amazing.

As far as cupcakes, I don't know much about Magnolias, but Billy's Cupcakes on 22nd and 8th ave is pretty tasty. Tastiest frosting on a cupcake I've ever had...not too sweet, tastes just right.

Joe Shanghai is pretty good if you like soup dumplings, but I'm sure there are better places to get soup dumplings in Chinatown.

I'm still waiting to try the cart food on 53rd or whatever it is...I hear the line gets ridiculously long at times.

Best fries I have ever eaten is at Les Halles, 28th and Park. This is Anthony Bourdain's old place. One of my favorite restaurants in the city hands down since the prices are reasonable and the portions are just right.

impossible, the pizza outside NY sucks, thats a fact and not arguable

edit: ive tried both Joes and Lombardis pizza, there both delicious and worth a taste.
