Go E39 or stay E46?

I have an e46 sedan prefwacelift.......i am thinking of ridding of it and getting an E39 of some sort.... i have always loved the body of that car....but if i stay e46 it would have to be a coupe....which do you think is the best bet? there is an 04 325ci sport for sale by my house 64k asking 17k....i could jump on that now but i am afraid i will regret it for the e39.....someone turn me towards a certain direction

it all depends on what your looking for? if i was looking i'd go for the e39 M5, but it seems your prob not looking in that price range.
if your looking for an older/mature look id say E39, younger look then obviously the e46

only you can answer that question for yourself. do you prefer a 4-door or 2-door?? do you prefer a more spacious interior for you and your passengers, or are you okay with cramped spaces?? also, what's your driving style--are you more of a cruiser or do you drive spiritedly??

You already had an e46, might want to switch it up a bit and go with an e39.

i;ve had a 528i. it was an amazing car. great handling, powerful and a very very comfortable ride. i would look for a 2002/2003 530i or a 2002/2003 540i with the m-tech kit. good luck.

e39 540i 6 speed imho one of the best bmw's ever made, no offense to the e46 but the e39 was just a better car from the factory in every way minus the cupholders

They say E39s are for the older crowd, but I went from a 325Ci to a E39 530i fully loaded and enjoyed it. I even had 20's on it and it fit right in. What I liked the most was the rear seats for hanging clothes from the cleaners. Since I already had a 325Ci I was well ready do all maintenance on my 530i. I drive a Range Rover now and trust me I miss my 530i daily even though my next ride will be either a newer 535i or a 650Ci.

As much as I love my 330i, I'm pretty sure I'd give it up in a heartbeat for a 540i6. They are just awesome cars, and having that V8 at my disposal would be amazing.

well, i've owned a few different models (5-E30's, 3-E36's, E32 750iL, E39 540, E46 328, 330, E53 X5 4.4)
they all have great features and character.
if you want a straight up highway cruiser, go 7 series.
around town daily E46
mix of around town and highway E39
twisty roads E30 or E36. the morestraightaways the morei'd lean towards the E36.

The X5 is a whole differenet world. i use it to pull the track car with and it hauls a trailer better than any other SUV i have ever used.

E39 530 FTW. Glad you got one!

I love mine, puts down wicked power from the M54B30, handles like its on rails(after my suspension ordeal). Stops like an M3(look it up) Room for 5. And looks badass.

I'm 21 and the looks I get from people are just jaw drops.
