I definitely wouldn't mind. It's not rocket science, but it seems like a fairly trickery puzzle.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't a couple month gap between taking the engine out and putting the new one in...

Ground bear? As in I'll-maul-your-face-off bear?

It's mostly a matter of wiring (can't find the o2 sensors on the drivers side of the engine), putting the belts on, putting the cooling system back in, bleeding it, putting the intake back in then firing it up.

Curious, anyone know how to replace the clutch/flywheel? I'm debating on whether I should go to the mechanic or not.

The actual changing of the parts will be simple but, I'm guessing the best way to do it will to be by dropping the tranny, which won't be fun. If you do it you'll need internal start sockets and a bunch of extensions and knuckle joint sockets.

I wish. I have access to a couple lifts but only for quick jobs. Since doing this swap was done over such a long time i didn't bother asking. But hopefully by next year we get a lift out in Seymour

I'm also now pushing to have the car done Friday night since it will need to be aligned to be drivable, and I'm craving a long pointless ride or 2 this weekend.

So if you guys are still down to get together, maybe we could just enjoy a small group ride if everything goes according to plan.

YES. I've yet to make it to a drive this year, so I'm determined to get my Z4 out soon for something. I'm in for a drive so long as we're done before the storms start rolling in since I have to be in the Dane/Rock/Iowa county area for Skywarn related stuff.

Anyone else up for a drive?

With the engine swap and suspension being so fresh i don't want to go terribly far and I'm not going to be beating on the car, but just a ride sounds so refreshing.

.... Ok, maybe I'll have a little fun after I'm comfortable everything is good.

Me and some friends are actually planning a cruise today at 5pm up through Door County. Idk if any of you have been up there but, we have some pretty fun roads. So far it's me, a focus svt, a wrx wagon, a verrrry modded jetta tdi and a beastly trans am is probably going to show up. i know i know. quite the random line up. lol

I'd prefer Sunday. I'll inevitably have skywarn stuff going on starting mid to late afternoon and I'm busy in the morning/noon area on Saturday. That will also give you some time to test everything on Saturday.

Done, haha I'll try and get my brother in on this too. He recently picked up an STI. Oh, Sunday works for me as well.
